4DX Ventures is a Pan-African venture capital firm built as a bridge between US capital and African innovation. Co-founded in 2017 by Walter Baddoo (born and raised in Accra, Ghana; former Morgan Stanley) and Peter Orth (former Bridgewater Associates and JPMorgan Chase), the firm operates from New York with on-the-ground offices in Accra, Cairo, and Nairobi. The diaspora angle is embedded in the firm's DNA, and the team explicitly aims to channel global institutional capital toward founders solving foundational problems across the continent.

The firm has invested in 50+ portfolio companies operating across 20+ countries, and those companies have collectively raised over $1.2 billion in follow-on funding. Fund III reached a first close of $48.9M in 2024 (topped up to $55M+, targeting $80M final close), anchored by a $10.5M commitment from the IFC. Earlier funds include a $60M Fund II (closed 2021). The portfolio includes some of Africa's highest-profile tech companies: Flutterwave (payments infrastructure, valued at $3B+), Andela (global technical talent), Yoco (South African SME payments), and the MaxAB-Wasoko merger that created Africa's largest B2B e-commerce company.
