Overview

Development Partners International (DPI) is an Africa-focused private equity firm managing over $3 billion in assets across three flagship funds, most recently its African Development Partners (ADP) III vehicle. DPI led the $110 million Series C in Moniepoint in 2024 alongside BII and LeapFrog, the fund's clearest fintech infrastructure bet to date and one of the largest African fintech rounds of the year.

DPI's stated approach targets "high growth, impact-driven, and innovation-led companies," but the Moniepoint deal is representative of the fund's actual bar: profitable business with 150%+ revenue CAGR, over 2 million business customers, and $17 billion in monthly transaction volume processed at the time of investment. Across the ADP fund series, DPI has completed 32 investments in 25 companies, and the firm points to more than 25,000 jobs created and 60,000-plus staff employed across its portfolio as impact evidence alongside commercial return.

DPI is a UN PRI signatory, positioning ESG and responsible-investment standards as part of its process rather than an add-on.
