“Empowering Egyptian startups by providing strategic, financial, operational, and network support that enables them to scale and thrive.”
Egypt Ventures is a government-backed venture capital firm established in 2017 to support the Egyptian startup ecosystem. Led by Chairman and CEO Ahmad Gomaa, the firm has invested approximately EGP 306+ million across 150+ startups through both direct investments and indirect investments via accelerator programmes.
The firm operates a multi-stage investment model, backing high-growth, tech-enabled companies across healthtech, edtech, e-commerce, fintech, and biotech. Beyond its direct portfolio of 20+ startups, Egypt Ventures runs two accelerator programmes (Falak Startups and EFG-EV Fintech, the latter a joint venture with EFG Hermes) and is a limited partner in Flat6Labs Cairo Fund. The government backing gives portfolio companies access to institutional credibility and public-sector networks that are difficult to replicate through private VCs alone.
