Overview

Overview

EmergingTech Ventures (EmTech) is a Casablanca-based venture capital firm founded by Meriem Zaïri Tlemçani (CEO), Abdelouahid Benlamlih, and Sidi Mohammed Zakraoui. The trio acquired and rebranded the predecessor firm (formerly Seaf Morocco Capital Partners) in 2022, transitioning from a $22 million Morocco-focused first fund to a regional platform.

Fund II targets $60 million (expandable to $80 million) with a $40 million first close target, and is backed by Proparco (the French development finance institution, via the FISEA facility) and IFC ($4 million commitment). The fund writes cheques of $500K--$3M into pre-Series A and Series A companies across Morocco, Tunisia, Senegal, and Côte d'Ivoire, with a focus on deeptech, fintech, healthtech, edtech, agritech, and cleantech. The investment approach emphasises ESG standards, gender-lens investing, and rigorous impact measurement.
