“Building sustainable African businesses that create both social and economic value.”
Injaro Investments is an Accra-based impact-focused investment firm founded in 2009 by Jerry Parkes and Dadie Tayoraud, with offices across Ghana, Côte d'Ivoire, Cape Verde, and representation in Nairobi. The firm manages approximately $65 million across multiple funds and has invested over $35 million in African SMEs, impacting more than 3 million beneficiaries.
The firm operates three main vehicles. Injaro Agricultural Capital Holdings (IACH), a $50 million fund backed by BII (formerly CDC), Proparco, and FMO, targets agribusiness SMEs across West Africa with cheques of $400K to $4M. The Agri-Business Capital Fund, a €200 million vehicle where Injaro serves as advisor, extends the agricultural thesis at larger scale. And the Injaro Ghana Venture Capital Fund (IGVCF), which closed at GHS 216 million ($17.5 million) in December 2023, is a cedi-denominated fund backed entirely by Ghanaian institutional capital (pension funds including Stanbic IMS, PETRA Securities, Databank Group, CAL Asset Management, plus the Venture Capital Trust Fund and Minerals Income Investment Fund Ghana) and targets best-in-class SMEs across multiple sectors including fintech, healthcare, education, and manufacturing. Injaro's work has been recognised on the Impact Assets 50, five portfolio companies were listed in the London Stock Exchange's "Companies to Inspire Africa 2017," and a portfolio company won "Portfolio Company of the Year" at the 2018 Private Equity Awards in London.
